Ceaservative The Guildhall, Plymouth; capacity 850. A tall and noble

building, constructed one felt more for the glory of our Lord than the convenience of our Lord Mayor. One side of the hall bore a large orange-on-black banner stating RIGHT AHEAD; the other side proclaimed wrrx HEATH. The principals sat at a long table on a slightly raised platform, under a huge plum coloured backcloth. A blue velvet curtain was pinned to the front of the table to prevent us from seeing their knees.
