Shadows : Scenes and Incidents in the Life of an

Old Arm-chair. By Mrs. G. F. Walter. (Religious Tract Society.)—This is the adaptation of an idea which has been not nnfrequently used before. The disadvantage is that the reader feels sure beforehand that the fioasehold which has the misfortune to own the autobiographical chair is sure to get into trouble. Happy the chair that has no history. Mrs. Walter's chair has a very chequered one ; but it comes back at last to its old home, and all is well.
