IN THE News of the World the other day there

was a report of two alleged cases of indecent assault. The assaults were alleged to have taken place on succeeding days, at the same place, and upon the same man, who was, I need hardly add, a policeman. It is, of course, possible that the policeman was just very unlucky, but it is much more likely that his job was to act as an agent provocateur and that he was successful—except that both men were acquitted.
