At the Congress on Saturday the figures were announced of

the elections to the Parliamentary Committee. Mr. J. H. Thomas was at the head of the poll by a great majority. It was significant that Mr. Smillie was only sixth on the list out of sixteen members. Moreover; he was the only miners' repre- sentative returned, although the miners, if numbers alone counted, would be entitled to about one-third of the seats.
