SOME BOOKS OF THE WEEK.

[Notice iss this column does stot necessarily preclude sultesduent review.]

We have received the July number of the Revue Economigue Internationale, edited at Brussels by M. Lion Hennebicq (5a. monthly). This valuable review was suspended during the war and reappeared a few months ago. We may direct attention to an article on " The Franco-Belgian Agreement," in which the editor shows how the economic fortunes of Antwerp are linked with those of Strasbourg through their common depend- ence on the Rhine. The question of reparation is considered in two articles. M. Dicamps, discussing the methods by which Germany may pay for the evil that she has done, remarks vary sensibly that Germany's credit depends on the persisteuce with which the Allies constrain her to keep her engagements. The Allies, in other words, will benefit Germany as well as themselves by seeing that she fulfils the Treaty of Versailles.
