TOURISTS IN FRANCE.

Misunderstandings appear to have arisen as to the taxes levied on tourists visiting France. For the information of those desiring to visit that country it may be stated that no new levies or taxes haye been imposed, but the following increases have recently been made : The cost of the " laisser passer " for motor-cars from 2.50 fs. to 10 fs. per day. The cost of the " Identity Card " from 68 fs. to 375 fs. This card is only necessary for those staying for longer than two months and therefore does not affect the ordinary tourist: The Cast of passenger tickets in France has been raised by 80 per cent. * * S
