The Week in Parliament Our Parliamentary Correspondent writes : Not

the least interesting feature on Budget Day was the reception given to the Prime Minister on his return from Stresa. When he entered the House and when he rose to answer a question he was received with a warmth that has not been visible since the early clays of the Parliament. There is ft general feeling that though the Stresa conference has not produced any solid basis of hope, its atmosphere and conclusions were at any rate less depressing than had been expected. It is clear at any rate that however much the Prime Minister has lost touch with the House of Commons and the country he still retains his gifts for managing international conferences.
