STOCK EXCHANOIL FRIDAY Arremmos.

Money continues to be very abundant in the City. The rate of discount for nnexoeptionable paper is from 21 to 3 per cent. The foreign exchanges also continue to decline, and there is some anxiety as to the result of the present state of things. Mr. BIDDLE'S American Bonds are taken very freely the success of this speculation seems to be secured.

Consols somewhat improved in the middle of the week. On Monday the quotation was 91/ for the Account ; on Thursday the price reached 92/, but has since fallen back to 911, and 91/. The premium on Exchequer Bills is from 46s. to 49s., and on India Bonds from 48s. to 50s.

In the Foreign Market, the Spanish Active Bonds, after falling from 201 to 191, are now at 20/. Portuguese Five per Cents. are 381 to 39/ ; Dutch Two-and-a•Half per Cents. 52/ to 5 4 ; Five per Cents. 1021 to ; Columbian, 244 to 25; Peruvian, 19 to 20.

The price of Railway Shares improved on Wednesday, partly on account of favourable reports of the receipts of the Birmingham and Liverpool Railway, partly on account of the plentiful supply of money, which induces capitalists to turn their thoughts again towards those subjects of speculation.

It is remarked that business generally has not revived to the same extent in London as in the provinces; in consequence, as is supposed, of the American failures having been those of London houses.

According to late accounts from Mexico, it would seem that the Government intend to issue a paper in the place of the existing copper currency.

Console are steady, at 918 1, with nothing of importance doing in the Eng- lish Market. Spanish Stock is firmer this morning, at an advance. It appears that the French papers have, as usual, been exaggerating for the last few days the misfortunes of the Queen's party and the successes of the Carlist "expedi- tions"—pompously so called. The first price to-day was 20/, and it may now be quoted 21/ 8. In other Stocks no variation has occurred worth notice.
