Travels by the Fireside. By Gordon Stables, RN. (F. V.

White and Co.)—The two old Scotchmen, Lochlin McDuff and Struan McRobb, have some stirring tales to tell of their adventures by flood and field. The zones of the Cheyenne Indians will satisfy the greediest fire-eater. Split up into several evenings, these Travels by the Fireside would really make capital reading aloud, very young people excepted. No one can tell a story better than Dr. Gordon Stables when he has a mind to, and his narratives always read naturally. This is certainly a capital boy's book, and as such we recommend it to young readers.
