Studies in the Art Anatomy of Animals. By Ernest E.

Thomp- son. (Macmillan and Co.)—This book deals with the visible structure of animals and birds, and the author tells us that in carrying out his work he was careful to bear in mind the living animal as well as the dead dissected one. Besides anatomical diagrams and accompanying lists of muscles, we are given tables of measurements, which in the case of the wild animals will doubtless be useful to painters in working out the relation of a wild beast to its surroundings. The book is one which will be useful to animal painters.
