Jo Grimond writes:

There has been a disappointing response to my offer in the Notebook of bottles of English sherry. Where are the public com- panies who have given their directors no salary increases for three years? Where are the organisations which will admit to get- ting enough money from public funds? Perhaps they don't like English sherry. However, one organisation has contacted me, one shining example of a body which has actually returned some of the tax- payers' money which it received. A bottle of claret — he doesn't like English sherry either — goes to the noble Lord Chitnis, chairman of Refugee Action.
