The Chambers of the Grand Dutchy of Hesse reassembled on

the 7th instant : they seem inclined to prove very refractory and disobedient to the commands of their Sovereign and their Sove- reign's Austrian dictator. The second Chamber denies and the Grand Duke affirms the legality of the famous Frankfort Decree. The Duke, moreover, denies the competency of the Chamber to take the Decree into consideration. This has occasioned some violent language on the part of the Deputies ; who have referred the Duke's message to a Committee to report thereon. There the matter rests for the present.
