"The cry is still they come." Here is the first

volume of yet another edition of "The Waverley Novels," which is to appear in the " New Century Library" (T. Nelson and Sons, 2a. net per vol.) We may compliment the publishers on the quality of the India paper. We have on one or two occasions criticised it, and are glad to recognise the great improvement. The print on the next page does not show through at all.

A very brief notice will_suffiee for two well-known magazine volumes (half-yearly), brief because they are so well known,— the Strand Magazine, edited by George Newnes, and the Sunday Strand (G. Newnes, 6s. 6d. each). It is needless to praise them. Both are good; the Sunday Strand is about as succes sful an effort of the kind as has ever been made.
