town today, for Os- borne House, in the Isle of Wight; where, it is understood, her Majesty and the Prince will remain until the prorogation of Parliament.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Honourable Anne Napier to be one of the Maids of Honour in Ordinary to her Majesty., in the room of the Honourable Georgiana Liddell, resigned.—London Gazette, July 18. We base reason to believe that Captain Boldero, MP., has tendered his re- signation as Clerk of the Ordnance.—Morning Post. Speaking of Thomas Hood, the Times says—"We are glad to learn that the subscription for the family of this distinguished writer already exceeds 1,0001., and is still making progress."
