Legal costume

Sir: It has been suggested that the Law Courts might house a permanent exhibition illustrating the history of legal costume and appurtenances in England and Wales. Among the exhibits might be single costumes, panoramas containing several figures in the costumes of their respective periods, and also pictures and brass-rubbings illustrative of legal dress of the past.

We would be very grateful if any of your readers would be prepared to give or lend such exhibits or indicate where they might be pro- cured : if so, would they please write to the secretary of the committee which is investigating the practicability of such an exhibition : Mr Julian Baughan, 1 Essex Court, Temple EC4. 1.
