CUSTODY OF THE INSANE.

MB O'Comion has been handed over to appropriate medical cus- tody, on an understanding that he shall not be released without the consent of the House of Commons. Mr. Secretary Walpole allows that such understanding will only last during the session— not longer. After the prorogation of Parliament, his safe custody will again be dependent on the intervention of those relatives who have so long delayed their intervention. We only alluded to the case for the purpose of noting, that it is not really disposed of by Mr. O'Connor's temporary seclusion on an " unolerstanding " be- tween the House of Commons and the keeper of a private asylum.
