The Liberals of Nottingham intend to invite Mr. O'Connell to a public dinner. On the 7th instant, a large meeting was held at Leicester,—the Mayor, Mr. Paget, in the chair,—to petition Parliament for the re- moval of grievances affecting the Dissenters. In two days 3200 sig- natures were annexed to the petition. Who would have expected, five years ago, that the Mayor of Leicester would have presided at a meet- ing in &your of Dissenters?
