Blizzard. By Thomas Pinkerton. (Swan Sonnenschein and Co.)—This is a

tale of the extravaganza order. A mild-mannered parson becomes possessed of a dog who ought to get him into all kinds of scrapes, but somehow contrives to benefit him. There is some entertainment to be got from it by a reader who likes his humour on a large scale. He will certainly prefer it to the com- panion story, which is of the gloomiest kind.
