Brigadier Pattakos has forbidden the wearing of long hair on the grounds that it is unGreek, scruffy, unmilitary and an indication of sub- versive opinions.

The Spartans at Thermopylae Were dressed somewhat improperly. Herodotus has made it clear Not one of them had cut his hair. No wonder, Pattakos will say, It was the Persians won the day.
