Ten days ago, a midnight meeting of the leading Tories

from all parts of the kingdom was held in Edinburgh. It took place in the saloon of the Royal Hotel. It began to assemble at ten o'clock, and did not separate till five o'clock next morning. The parties came on foot by ones and twos. There were nearly two hundred present ; among others, the Marquis of Douro, Lord Stormont, and many more of that rank. The servants of the house were excluded ; Sir George Clerk, Sir John Hope, &c. acting as waiters.—Correspondent of the Scotsman.
