Waithman. (Walter Scott.)—Mesers. Pearson and Waithman commend their volume to the reader by the terrible example of the forty-two thousand Ephraimites who perished because they could not pronounce aright the word " Shibboleth ;" but they do not profess to correct brogue. In fact, their preface cannot profit their book, which is far more sensible and to the point than it would lead us to suppose.
