The whole arrangement and working of the expedition, and the details of the living, trapping, and the hardships, are related with admirable clearness and verisimili- tude ; indeed, we have seldom come across a more accurate description of camping life, or one in which it was more easy to accompany in spirit the actors in the narrative. It is a capital story, and has just that accuracy of detail and simplicity of rela- tion that boys like. It reads, indeed, like an actual experience, and one sees no reason why it should not be. It is almost too tempting for boys to read.
