A Midsummer Night's Dream. Illustrated by J. Moyr Smith. (B.

Quaritch..)—Mr. Moyr Smith gives us an Introduction, in which he discusses the play especially regarded as a spectacle, and describes the way in which it has been brought upon the stage. Some memorable representations of it seem to have been made. The text used is that of the First Folio, printed as it stands, with a few obvious corrections. The illustrations are numerous and often clever, though we cannot say that we always find them pleasing or suitable to the text. Can those two somewhat mature ladies—they must have numbered each between thirty and forty summers—be meant for Hermia and Helena?
