Messrs. Blackie send us new editions of three of George

Macdonald's volumes (3s. 6d. net per vol.) The three arc At the Back of the North Wind, The Princess and the Goblin, and Remold Bannerman's Boyhood. There is no need to commend these books, which have, indeed, become classics in their own order of litera- ture. We must mention, however, the admirable portrait of the author which adorns the cover. The numerous illustrations (twelve in colour and thirty in black-and-white to each volume) are in excellent keeping.
