The King's Speech proroguing Parliament on Thursday, Xovember 10th, reviewed

at some length the course of affairs and declared that good progress had been made towards the solution of the most critical problems. Expenditure must be still further restricted " in every department of life, both Public and private." The situation in Ireland still occasioned great anxiety. The peaceful settlement of many industrial diePutes, together with some indications of a revival of trade, encouraged the hope that the worst might be over and that unemployment might decline.
