Another version of The Syren was produced at Drury Lane

on Thursday ; Miss RAINFORTH taking the place of Mademoiselle Neu, and STRETTON, HARRISON, and KING, the parts of LEFFLER, ALLEN, and young Holm With regard to the orchestral and choral parts of the opera, the advantage of comparison was on the side of Drury Lane, but not with respect to the principal singers. Our space being at pre- sent preoccupied, we are obliged to postpone a more particular consider- ation of the differences and varieties a effect in the two performances.

The Bohemian Girl is still a favourite alterative at this theatre ; and The Deserter of Naples holds its ground as an afterpieee, by the clever pantomime of PAYNE and WIELAND and the dancing of Miss CLARA WEBSTER: but DUNILATRE is the star of the ballet, whose lustre at- tracts crowds of enraptured gazers on "the light of the Harem."
