Tory leadership

Sir: In the aftermath of Mr Heath's February aberration you were savagely attacked by the Daily Mail for urging that he should be removed from the Conservative leadership before he could do more damage to the party and the country. On the morning of final electoral reckoning last week the Mail proclaimed in a bold headline, "Heath Is Finished," Such prescience is surely astonishing. But from all the turmoil one comforting thought emerges: we can no longer be locked into the Common Market without the constitutional proprieties being observed.
