We arc informed that Lieutenant-Colonel Thomsen, of the Royal Engineers,

has been sent down by the Board of Trade to inspect the Eastern Coombe, Railway, whh instructions to make a full and detailed report upon the late accidents which have occurred on that line. Colonel Thomsen visited the line on Tuesday and Thursday, and was to conclude his inspection yesterday. lie was attended by the engineer and several of the directors of the company ; who, we are happy to hear, met hint in the Lest spirit, and showed themselves anxious to afford every facility towards a thorough and searching. investigation. We also underatana that Lieutenant-Colonel Sir F. Satoh is about to proceed shortly, under the authority of the Board of Trade, to inspect and report tla,-te ths Iluil and Selby Railway, with reference to the fatal accident which recently attracted so much attention, and to the other accidents a Lich have since occurred upon that line.—Morning Chronicle, September 19.
