Sir Charles Callwell's editorship of Campaigns and their Lessons is

well known to students of military history ; and Colonel A. P. Wavell, whose Palestine Campaigns (Constable, 12s. 6d.) has just reappeared in a third edition, is not less prominent for his descriptive power and lucidity of style. This volume, which originally appeared in 1928, deserves mention for its impartiality and for the success with which the author summarizes one of the most spectacular and decisive of the concluding phases of the Great War.
