In the cathedral town of Exeter, under the benign and

especial sur- veillance of the apostolic Dr. Prittrorrs, resolutions in favour of the abolition of Church-rates were carried on Thursday, at a public meet- ing, although the clergy and their adherents assembled in force on the opposite side. It does so happen, that in cathedral towns, where the Church might be supposed to be predominant, there is energetic and often triumphant Radicalism. How is this?
