and her brother Marmaduke come home from India, to be put under their grandmother's charge, when Dolly is to perform the function of a peace-maker, for the grandmother is sorely displeased at her son's marriage, and has never welcomed her daughter-in-law. How the unselfishness and patient affection of the little maiden—for the old woman's lore is almost wholly given to the boy—display themselves, is very prettily described.
