The correspondent of the Times mentions a report current in

Dublin on Thursday, "that the Right Reverend Bishop Denvir is about to proceed to Rome on the part of his brother Commissioners, (Doctors Crolly and Murray,) to lay before his Holiness the real state of the Catholic Bequests question and the agitation to which it has led."

We have learned, upon authority which leaves us no room for doubt, that Dr. Cantwell, Catholic Bishop of Meath, has directed his priests to withhold the sacrament from any person who supports the Bequests Act! This is one of the most audacious pieces of ecclesiastical tyraany of modern times.—Northern Whig (Belfast).
