The Empire Forestry Association have just begun to issue a

quarterly journal, Empire Forestry (Macmillan, 4s. net). The need for some organized effort of this kind is illustrated in an article on " Forestry in the Empire," by Mr. R. L. Robinson, who shows that in one Dominion or Colony after another the forests are being recklessly felled without being replanted. India is almost alone in possessing an efficient forest service, which after fifty years of steady work yields a large surphis revenue and can supply for an indefinite period all the timber likely to be required.
