Philip's Practical " Index " Quids to London. By W.

0. Arcs. (G. Philip and Son. ls.)—We cannot explain within the limits of space that we can command the principles of the " index" guide. They are to be found in a certain arrangement of numbers, illustrated by a map, from which the inquirer may learn what he wants to know. He wishes to find out a certain street. These nunibers tell him where it is, how far off, how high it stands, how it may be reached and at what cost, and what is to be found there. All London is not compressed into this volume. It is to be, if the public favour it, the first of a Berke.
