A. Romanist agitation is fairly on foot in Ireland. The

Roman Catholic Prelates have met in Dublin under the presidency of Pri- mate Cullen ; twenty-one of the twenty-eight Bishops being present. Their proceedings were harmonious ; and addresses to the Queen and the Roman Catholics of Ireland, with petitions to Parliament against the Ecclesiastical Titles Bill, were voted una- nimously. Meetings of the laity for the same purpose have been held throughout the country. The whole agency of simultaneous Sunday meetings and addresses front the altar, the efficacy of which has so often been felt in Ireland, is brought into play. The Government appears to be entirely isolated.
