Mr. Merlon C. Cooper is a young American who has

chosen adventure as his profession. In Grass (Putnam, 10s. 6d.) he tells, in uncommonly good English, of the great annual migration of the Baktyari Nomads in search of grass. A map and sixty-four first-rate, photographs accompany the book which should find a place in every travel-lover's library, as it is a well-told tale of little-known events.
