Messrs. Macmillan have republished in a separate volume Fitzgerald's translation

of the Rubaiycit of Omar Khayyam. It is needless to say anything of this ; indeed, we reviewed it last year Whether it is a translation or no may be fairly doubted; no translator was ever so audacious. Probably it is not; but it is something better,—a fine poem, largely inspired by the genius of Khayyam, but also owing much to the singular ability of the English writer.
