London University and the History of Art

It is good news that the University of London has decided to establish on its Bloomsbury site an Institute for the study of the History of Art_ and to found a Chair. The Professor of the History of Art will act as Director of the Institute. The whole scheme has been made possible by the munificence of Mr. Samuel Courtauld and Sir Joseph Dureen. Lord Lee has given much encouragement to it, and as we learn from the Time., intends to bequeath his collection of pictures to the

Institute. *
