Royal Dunfermline. By Alan Reid and William Kirk. (Romanes and

Son, Dunfermline. is. 6d.)—Royal Dunfermline is, perhaps, better known to the world in general as "Dunfermline gay," where they rang the bells for the wedding of the sister of Ethert Brand, "the fairest knight in all Scotland." It has a fine abbey church, largely the work of King David, son of Malcolm Cannier°, ruins of an abbey, and other noteworthy things, among them the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie, and the handsome baths and gymnasium, in which he paid his OpErripta to his native burgh. These and other noteworthy buildings and places are pictured here by photographs and duly described by the two authors whose names are given.
