when I thought the Conservative party was about to implode (what, tangibly, have either Kenneth Clarke or lain Duncan Smith really offered us as an electable alternative to the glib — and depressingly successful — awfulness of the incumbent government?), you suddenly publish an article with views that I believe should be nailed instantly and vigorously to the front door in Smith Square.
