In defence of Wales

From Mr Ian Skidmore Sir: What a perceptive critic Deborah Ross's foul-mouthed son is (Diary, 25 August); but if she really means it. I will buy her a Regatta fleece. As an Englishman fighting anti-English racism in this part of Wales, her remarks were unhelpful. Was she, to use her own vernacular, pissed in Harlech? There are endless shops, as any husband will attest, an excellent theatre and some very fine restaurants.
