A discovery highly interesting to the antiquarian has brought to

light the remains of warriors whose powerful arms, at least 1,800 years ago, gave laws to our ancestors. Some workmen employed in digging for stone on Limloe Hill, a few miles from Royston, discovered the remains of several bodies, one of which is in a most perfect state.

"Whose powerful arms gave laws to our ancestors." Yes, this is pretty much the way laws were given eighteen hundred years ago—by arms, not heads. The bones of the arms of these gentry will doubtless be found pretty strong, and their skulls pretty thick. The "wisdom of our ancestors" lay a good deal in their thews and sinews.
