THE Queen attended divine service in the Chapel Royal ;St. James's, on Sunday ; accompanied by the Marchioness of Tavistock, Lady Flora Hastings, Miss Murray, Lord Torrington, and Major Keppel.

A Court was held at Buckingham Palace on Monday ; when Sir John Ambassador to Persia, was invested with the insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of the Bath. The Queen went to the Italian Opera on Tuesday, accompanied by the Dutchess of Kent, and attended by Lady Charlemont, Mrs. Brand,

Lord Torrington, and Colonel Buckley. Lady Flora Hastings was in attendance on the Dutchess of Kent. Her M tjesty held a Levee at St. James's Palace on Wednesday. The company included the Dukes of Sussex and Cambridge, the Mar- -guises of Tavistock and Exeter, the Earls of Camperdown, Wilton, Shaftesbury, Grey, Aberdeen, and Ripon, Viscount Clive, Lords Dinor- ben, Segrayis, and Portman, the Bishops of Norwich, Winchester, and Bangor, Colonel Garwood, Messrs. Ellice, Buxton, and Salomons. After the levee, the Duke of Cleveland was invested with the insignia of a Knight. of the Garter in due form, The Dutehess of Kent, with Lady Flora Hastings, dined with the Queen on Thursday : the party also included the Duke of Sussex, the Duke of Cleveland, the Earl of Clarendon, Earl and Countess of Zet- laud, Earl of Ilchester, and Lord Dinorben. Lord Melbourne's dinners at the Palace this week were three—on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
