SIR,—I shall give myself the pleasure at the end of January of send- ing to the Provost of Worcester a present of " Jews' ears "—the repellent name by which this brilliant fungus is known in this part of Somerset. It is common with us at that time of year, but is not often noticed by the middle-aged because of its liking for damp ditches and the less-frequented paths through dripping woods.—
