He. regards the, problem from the Canadian paint of view, and maintains with much earnestness the advan- tage of a strengthening of the ties which bind this, as other portions of the Empire, to the Mother-country. One desirable step would cert.inly be to enlarge the Royal title. The con- nection with India is certainly not so close and essential as that with the great Eng'ish-speaking countries of "Greater Britain." We welcome Mr. Hovrland's volume, as at once loyal and full of practical good sense.
