In the Garden As February wanes the garden becomes a

garden again, not in these days because the snowdrops are in flower, but because we may begin to increase the nation's food. Two vegetables at any rate, ilea beans and turnips, may be sown out of doors ; and onions cerliolr do better, if sown in carefully closed frames and subsequently pr:,:hed out as we prick out half-hardy annuals.
