Sir Kenneth Keith

Sir Kenneth Keith is a merchant banker and head of Hill Samuel. His bank is not growing like it was and had a severe setback recently in failing to take over Metropolitan Estates and Property, which would have worked the miracle on their. liquidity.

Sir Kenneth, anyway, is smooth and rich and enjoys a drink. He is able to borrow money easily for investment, which is just as well, since not long ago he paid 130s each for 36,000 shares in the late lamented Mineral Securities, the bankrupt Australian mining company. Now the business is phut, he is reported to be tearing his hair. But is in a position to do something about it, unlike the

other poor idiots who have been gulled by the Australian nickel mine 'pool' operators on the London and Australia stock ex- changes. Sir Kenneth has sent two Hill Samuel hands down under with specific instructions to 'find out what's wrong. I want to know the name of who's responsible'.
