THE PRACTICE OF MANAGEMENT. By Peter F. Drucker. (Heinemann, 25s.)

MANAGEMENT is at last beginning to engage general attention among businessmen; a process summed up by Mr. Drucker when he says 'we no longer talk of "capital" and "labour": we talk of "management" and "labour."' He provides a numher of manage- ment case histories from the US as an indica- tion of what developments can be expected in Europe: a shrewd and readable book, Mr. Silberston's study is the product of a survey made possible through a Kenward Research Fellowship; a useful guide to what is being, and could be, done to encourage managerial training in industry and in the Universities.
