The King THROUGHOUT the King's illness the public has -I- accepted the bulletins at their face value, and has been right in doing so. In the case of the latest operation, which was performed on Monday, the public feels as before that it has been told the truth, The King's health has steadily improved, and the purpose of the operation was to enable the abscess to be more easily drained and treated. It was not, of course, a slight operation, as it involved the removal of portions of two ribs, but the most encouraging sign is that the King was making progress in his general health even when the draining of the abscess was still unsatisfactory, Now the conva- lescence ought to be surer and quicker.
