Good, but ugly

Sir: To A.R. Evans's daft idea (Letters, 15 June) of pictures. at the head of articles by your major contributors, a resounding no.

I've seen most of them in other British publications, and, with one exception, no, maybe two — no names, no pack-drill they're nice enough but won't exactly trans- port you with rapture. As for the rest, I'll continue to dream dreams of Hollywood glamour.

For all, let their words speak for them. The Spectator is not yet a supermarket tabloid, thank heavens.
